President of Europa United Yachting. The founder of the Empatia Foundation established in 2015 dealing with, inter alia, organizing yacht cruises for seniors and people with disabilities on the „Empatia Polska” yacht.
Before establishing the Empatia Foundation, Andrzej Walczak used to sail with more than 1,000 people with disabilities on small sailing yachts on Masurian lakes for over 7 years. Mr. Andrzej has an extensive, nearly 40-year experience in the construction and operation of sea yachts. He gained the specialized experience in constructing dedicated accessible yachts by building the „Empatia Polska” S/Y.
As part of his own proprietorship (AWIWA), Mr. Andrzej has adapted a standard sailing unit to the safety and needs of people with disabilities and successfully conducts cruises on it. In addition to the of the sailor and sea helmsman licenses, Mr. Andrzej has extensive contacts within the yachting industry and with national and global organizations associating accessibility to people with special needs.
